Laura Freeman has been writing songs for kids since she picked up the phone at a temp job and took a message from Ethel Shockett. Ethel may not know it but she inspired a song about visiting every planet in our solar system. Since then Laura has written a song for every color in the rainbow, an ode to math and the big hit My Brother's a Monster! (because everyone secretly wants to roar and stomp around like monsters).
Laura started working with Heather Jarry in 2007. Together they created two puppet shows.
Iris Saves the Land of Black and White
These puppet shows have been performed all over Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico and Arizona.
Laura and Heather also formed a band The Hey Lollies!! They have performed at birthday parties, coffee houses and libraries through out Texas. Heather had a baby in 2012 so Laura started working with some horn players to fill in the gaps while Heather was on maternity leave. Guess what?? Jeff Luna, the sousaphone player, had the great idea to turn the Hey Lollies into a brass band. Thus the Hey Lolly Brass Band was formed.
So if you are looking for some wonder-filled, monster-licious kid shows give us a call. We'll find something that will fit your bill.
